Oh motherhood. What’s not to say about it? I’m quite confident many mothers can write a book on the love they feel for their child(ren). On how this little creature wins their heart from the very start and on how that tiny human can get under their skin in a split second. Yes, I believe motherhood is the most complex love of all, but also the strongest kind of love.
So when you ask me to translate that love in images, I pour my heart and soul into my camera and capture motherhood in all it’s forms. Motherhood is sweet, hard, amazing, painful. The best thing that will ever happen to you, the hardest thing you ever did. It’s an adventure, it’s a journey, it’s everything you ever dreamed of and more.
This particular motherhood session took place in late November with two of my favorite ladies in the world. They were full on troopers as the weather wasn’t on our side and temperatures dropped close to freezing point. Yet Nikki did not hesitate to go the extra mile for the right picture.
And oh the magic that happened in front of my camera. It warmed my heart in so many ways. You’ll see why 😉
I love to capture moments, emotions and the interaction between people. Yes, I might start off giving you some directions until you feel at ease. But what really makes my heart jump are the moments in between. The real moments. The whispers, the hugs and the kisses. Maybe even the tears or grumpy faces. Kids are honest and pure.
