Darling little Fons came into this world with a C-section. Less fun for mommy to give birth this way, but very convenient for the photographer. Because, you know, we could totally plan this out from a to z with little chance of surprises. Or so we thought…
Such an honor when people trust you with photographing their special moments like the birth of their child. Naomi being my bestie, made it even more special for me being allowed to witness this moment. I was looking forward to it weeks in advance and counting down till the big day.
And then it was there. While I was standby from early morning on, the C-section wasn’t planned till late afternoon. Camera ready, me ready and the waiting game could start. Can I say how nervous I was? It felt like I was going into labor and giving birth myself.
Minutes crawled by and I probably checked my phone a million times to be sure I didn’t miss ‘the call’.
Instead of a phone call I received a picture…of yes, Fons! While they had been waiting for hours theirselves, all of a sudden they started prepping Naomi for the surgery and things happened in a blink. Soon as I received the message I jumped in the car and drove to the hospital, that (fortunately) is only a five minutes drive. I might have gotten there in four 🙈
Seconds later I arrived in the room and captured the first little moments of Fons. I fell in love with his chubby little cheeks instantly and am now suffering a serious case of babyfever. Thank you for that Naomi 😜
Shortly after, Fons’ brother and sisters came to meet him and after capturing those moments I headed home to let them start their new life as a family of six.
